36. FIXED ASSET INVESTMENT

The investment represents the shareholding of Reuters Holdings PLC in Reuters Limited. It is stated at valuation based on the net asset values at 31 December 1983, adjusted for the subsequent conversion of Reuters Limited E shares, and additional investment of £91 million in 1989.
