Corporate governance

Reuters has always recognised the importance of high standards of corporate governance. It supports and has complied throughout 1998 with the majority of the principles of corporate governance recommended in the Combined Code.

The ways in which Reuters applies these principles, and the few principles with which Reuters does not consider it appropriate to comply at present, are described in the appropriate parts of this annual report. PricewaterhouseCoopers have reviewed Reuters statements as to compliance with the Combined Code to the extent required by the Listing Rules of the London Stock Exchange. See the results of their review.
