FAQ

How do I become a supplier to Reuters?

Reuters is always interested in talking to prospective suppliers that can help us to achieve our strategic objectives or deliver added value propositions to our customers. Qualification requirements vary depending on the product or service that is being offered. In the first instance complete the Expression of Interest form and e-mail this to the address shown. We will consider the information that you provide and respond to you within 30 days of receipt.

Does Reuters use electronic trading tools?

Yes. Reuters is committed to using technology to speed up its sourcing and buying processes and to reduce administration costs. The suite of tools we currently employ includes electronic ordering, automated payment and e-auctions. Further developments in the areas of "punch out" links to external catalogues and e-sourcing are also close to deployment.

What are Reuters major categories of purchase?

Refer to the section on Reuters Spend Categories.

Does Reuters have Preferred Suppliers?

Normally Preferred status is achieved only after a supplier has traded with us satisfactorily for a given period of time and meets the relevant qualification criteria. These vary depending upon the product or service being supplied.

What does "Preferred Supplier" mean, and what are the benefits?

Depending upon the individual circumstances benefits may include multi-year trading agreements; a commitment to a minimum share of our business and potentially some form of collaborative relationship e.g. co-marketing, shared risk and reward or joint ventures.

Would our systems have to conform to certain technical standards in order to trade with Reuters?

At the basic level it is possible to transact with Reuters with no more than an Internet connection and an e-mail account. For more information see the section: Transacting with Reuters.

What are Reuters Terms and Conditions of Purchase?

Depending on the location of the Reuters entity with which you are doing business, one of the following sets of terms and conditions will apply. Reuters in the USA and Canada will use their own set of terms and conditions, as will Reuters in Japan (this document will be published shortly). All other Reuters locations will use the Global document. The most appropriate set of T&Cs will be issued with the PO, and your acceptance of them is a prerequisite of doing business with Reuters.

What happens after I register with Reuters as a prospective supplier?

We will consider the information provided and respond to you within 30 days of receipt.
